About | Patricia Lee Hamon, 81, of Columbus, passed away Wednesday, March 28, 2012 in Indianapolis. She was born Nov. 15, 1930 in Rushville to Ernest Nixon and Ethel Louise (Chance) Gordon. She was a 1949 graduate of Rushville High School. Patty married John L. Hamon Nov. 5, 1950; he preceded her in death Aug. 2, 1988. She lived in Rushville until 1972 when her family moved to Terre Haute. Patty had lived in Columbus since 1984. She was a life-member of Main Street Christian Church in Rushville and was an avid bowler. She was a member of two leagues in Columbus and also bowled on the Senior Citizen's League. Survivors include her sons, John "Michael" Hamon of Columbus and Paul Nicholas (Amy) Hamon of Fishers; daughters, Deborah (Anthony) Neidlinger of Athens, Ala. and Laura (Rodney) Bickel of Festus, Mo.; son-in-law, James Barnes of Columbus; sister, Judy (Richard) Bruce McMillin of Columbus; and 11 grandchildren. Besides her husband and parents Patty was preceded in death by two daughters, Eleanor Hamon and Jocelyn Barnes; and a granddaughter, Ashley Patricia Neidlinger. Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday, April 2 at Moster Mortuary, Rushville. Friends are welcome to visit from 9 to 11 a.m. Monday at the mortuary. Burial will be in Center Cemetery in Rush County. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, Diabetes Foundation or the March of Dimes. |
