About Lt. Col. Paul Edward Sheehan Jr., 67, of Warrenton, Va. died Feb. 17, 2009.

Born Jan. 8, 1942 in Indianapolis, he was the son of Paul E. and Frances Lucille McAtee Sheehan, both deceased. He married Linda K. Chaney; she survives.

Mr. Sheehan grew up in Rushville and graduated from Rushville High in 1960. He enlisted in the U.S. Air Force and later became an officer holding the rank of Lt. Col., retiring after 35 years. He most recently was an intelligence analyst for Northrop Grumman. Memberships include the Retired Military Officers Association, National Gold Wing Association and St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church in Warrenton.

Survivors in addition to his wife include daughter, Kerri Sheehan of Washington, D.C.; son, Patrick (Rhonda) Sheehan of Colorado Springs, Colo.; grandchildren, Sean and Cody Sheehan of Colorado Springs, Colo.; brothers, Danny (Paula) Sheehan and Tim ( Daylanne) Sheehan of Rushville; sisters, Maureen Leisure of Rushville, Kathleen Sheehan of Greenwood, Patricia Stamm of Rushville, Theresa (Mike) Shadley of Nashville and Michelle (Jerry) Bornhorst of Troy, Ohio; and sisters-in-law, Linda and Mary Sheehan of Rushville.

Besides his parents he was preceded in death by a brother, Joseph Sheehan.

A Mass of Remembrance will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church in Warrenton, Va. with the Rev. Phillip Cozzi officiating. Following Mass, friends are invited to a reception at the church's Mercy Hall.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday at St. Mary Catholic Church in Rushville with the Rev. William Turner officiating. Burial with full military honors will follow in Rushville's Calvary Cemetery. Visitation will be from 2 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Todd Funeral Home in Rushville where the rosary will be recited at 7:30 p.m.
