| About | Paul J. Hilligoss, 65, of Indianapolis, passed away March 31, 2014 in Methodist Hospital. He was born June 23, 1948 in Rushville to Herman "Hilly" & Esther (Ralston) Hilligoss. He spent his early life in Rushville before moving to Indianapolis in 1978. Paul was a 1966 graduate of Rushville High School. He was a Vietnam War veteran, serving in the US Army. He married Barbara Matney on August 23, 1972 and she survives. Paul was an electrical journeyman. He worked his apprenticeship with Philco Ford in Connersville, spent a few years with the Trane Company in Rushville and then worked for General Motors & Rolls-Royce in Indianapolis, retiring in 2008 after nearly 34 years. He was a member of the UAW and a dual member of the American Legion in Rushville Post #150, a Legioneer in Indianapolis and in Beech Grove he was in the Sons of the Legion. He is survived by his wife, Barbara, of Indianapolis, a brother, David R. & wife Geana Hilligoss of Venice, FL and several nieces & nephews & great nieces and great nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents. Services will be held at 4 PM Friday, April 4, 2014 at Moster Mortuary in Rushville where friends are welcome to visit from 2-4 PM that day. Pastor Rick Rhoades will preside and burial will be in the Hopewell Cemetery in Rush County. The Rush County Veteran's Honor Guard will provide military honors. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association. |
