| About | Pauline O'Dell (Schalk), 85, passed away at 9:50 AM , on December 17, 2010 at Rushville, Indiana. Pauline was born June 4, 1925 in Somerset, KY to Jack Smiley and Freda (Placke) Smiley. Pauline first married Harold O'Dell November 6,1943 and he preceded her in death 1977. She then married Herbert Schalk and he preceded her in death in 1984. Pauline worked in the Rushville Consolidated High School cafeteria from 1978-1981. Pauline was an "over 60 years member" of the Main Street Christian Church. She was also active in the Martha Poe Chapter of OES as well as Delta Theta Tau in Rushville. Pauline leaves one son David O"Dell (and wife, Gina) of Rushville, IN and two daughters Mrs. Leroy (Carolyn) Messer of Rushville, IN and Mrs. Ric (Cathy) Morgan of Greensburg, IN. She also leaves six grandchildren and eight great grandchildren, plus one great great grandson. In addition to her parents and two husbands, Pauline was preceded in death by five brothers (James, Morris, Clyde, Ed and Rich Smiley) and three sisters (Hazel Whiteman, Bertha Vansickle & Christine Johnson-Floyd). Pastor Sam Davenport will preside.
