About Phyllis Ann (Lacy) Ware, 79, of Connersville, passed away Sept. 20, 2015 on the morning of her favorite day of the week, Sunday. She had been an inpatient at I.U. Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis for five days.

She was born March 7, 1936 in Rushville, one of eight children of Richard and Ida May Sleet Lacy and was a 1954 graduate of Rushville High School.

On Nov. 7, 1964, she was married in Rushville to James C. Ware of Connersville, and they have made their home in Connersville since that time. Mr. Ware survives.

She had been employed in the Dietary Department at the Fayette County School Corporation before going to work for Design & Manufacturing in the Rack Plant.

A devoted founding member of Higher Praise Worship Center, she was fondly known by all as "Mother of the Church." Always a door greeter at the church, she brought comfort and a welcoming smile to all, and everybody got a hug. She loved attending Bible Study and other church events.

She took pride in her children and was a comfort to all who knew her.
