| About | Phyllis Ruby Israel Laurence 82, Indianapolis, died Thursday, October 6, 2005 at her home. She was a former resident of Rushville, IN and Vero Beach, FL. She was born on September 11, 1923 in Rush County, IN the daughter of Clarence and Margaret Edith (Ellison) Ruby. Phyllis retired in 1984 from Citizens Gas and had been a public accountant and did tax preparation in Indianapolis and Vero Beach. During the 1960's she and her husband owned Al's Self Serve in Indianapolis. Phyllis loved Ball Room Dancing and writing short stories and her memoirs, she also was a member of a writing club in Vero Beach. She was preceded in death by three husbands, H. Wayne Williams, Alfred E. Israel and William Laurence, and two brothers, Leland and Maurice Ruby. Phyllis is survived by her children, Kathryn Aldrich of Greenfield, IN., William Eugene Israel and Suzanne Israel, both of Indianapolis, IN.; two brothers, Lowell Ruby of Palm City, FL and Richard Ruby of Rushville, IN; two sisters, Joan Mullin of South Bend, IN and Anita Carol Marlatt of Rushville, IN; six grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. Graveside services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, October 15, 2005 at Washington Park East Cemetery. There will be a Celebration of Life Service at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, October 23rd at Mt. Comfort United Methodist Church, 3179 N. 600 W Greenfield, IN. The family has suggested contributions to Community Health Network Hospice, 9894 E. 121st. St., Fishers, IN. 46038.
