About | Rebecca "Becky" McMichael, 76, of Rushville, died Friday, Sept. 9, 2005 at her home. Born May 28, 1929, in Rushville, she was the daughter of Ludlow and Dora (Ketchum) Gibbs, both deceased. She married Lowell McMichael Nov. 7, 1992; he survives. Mrs. McMichael lived most of her life in Rushville. She was a 1948 graduate of Rushville High School. She was most recently employed at the Knightstown Soldiers & Sailors Home as a house parent, beginning in 1984 and continuing through 2004. Since 1976 she was a Mary Kay consultant and director. During the 1970s she was the assistant store manager at Minear's Department Store in Rushville. She also worked at Schnadig as a seamstress and a sewing engineer. She was a volunteer at Hancock Memorial Hospital. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Rushville and also a member of Gideon International Auxiliary where she participated in the jail ministry for women at the Fayette County Jail. She was a Rush County 4-H Leader with the Busy Belles Club for eight years. Survivors in addition to her husband include four sons, Eric I. Miller of Brownsburg, Mark A. Miller of Rushville, Jay R. Miller of Greenfield and Jeff L. Miller of New Palestine; three daughters, Debbie (Mrs. Terry) Hedges of Greenfield, Connie (Mrs. Ron) Cole of Indianapolis and Annie (Mrs. Don) Bell of Asheville, NC; three sisters, Janet Barlow of Marion, Ohio, Susan (Mrs. Dan) Cline of Indianapolis and Vickie Gibbs of Anderson; 15 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren. Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday at First Baptist Church in Rushville and Pastor Lew Hunter and the Rev. Phil Hodgkin officiating. Burial will follow in Rushville's East Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Sunday at the church. Memorial contributions may be made to Gideons International. Arrangements by Moster & Cox Mortuary in Rushville.
