About | Richard A. Parish age 92, of Rushville, passed away Nov. 9th at Rush Memorial Hospital. A Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 AM Nov. 13, 2012 at St. Mary Catholic Church with Rev. Jeremy Gries as Celebrant. Burial will follow at Rushville's Calvary Cemetery. All are welcome for the rosary Monday Nov. 12th at 3:45 PM and calling will conclude at 8:00 PM at Todd Funeral Centre & Crematory. Dick was born Oct. 21, 1920 in Rushville, the only child of Claude and Lydia (Dugan) Parish. He was a 1938 graduate of Rushville High School. Dick and Amelia Ann Mullins were united in marriage May 2, 1946, she survives. He entered the Navy Aug. 6, 1942 and was discharged Jan 22, 1946. He was a Pharmacist's Mate First Class for the Navy & Marine Corp. during WWII. He served in the American, Philippine & Asiatic-Pacific combat areas. He was a printer by trade, and worked for Weirner Typesetting many years. He was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church and was the co-chairman for St. Vincent DePaul many years. In addition to his wife Ann, survivors include a son, David Parish of Elk, WA; two daughters, Cindy Hall of Southport, IN & Pete (Mrs. Bill) Steele of Indianapolis, IN; six grandchildren and one great grandchild also survive. He was preceded in death by his daughter-in-law Laurie (Bradford) Parish. Memorial Donations may be made to the St. Vincent DePaul Society 512 N. Perkins St. Rushville, IN 46173.
