| About | Richard "Dick" Waits, 64, of Knightstown, died Aug. 6, 2008. Born May 22, 1944 in Rush County, he was the son of James L. and Josephine (Ruddell) Waits, both deceased. He married Kathryn Lawson Oct. 30, 1964; she survives. Mr. Waits lived in Knightstown most of his life. He was a 1962 graduate of Rushville High School and attended Purdue University. He was the owner of 311 shops and Prudential Insurance for 15 years. He was a member of Knightstown United Methodist Church, the Indianapolis Professional Photographers Guild, Knightstown Chamber of Commerce, and a former member of the Knightstown Kiwanis Club. He had also been a Henry County 4-H Leader and judge. Survivors in addition to his wife include sons, Chris (Sarah) Waits of Prospect, Ky. and Craig (Meg) Waits of Louisville, Ky.; sisters, Lois (Wayne) Nichols of Connersville and Barbara Waits of Greensburg; three grandchildren, Morgan, Parker and Gracie Waits; and four stepgrandchildren. Besides his parents he was preceded in death by a sister. Services will be Saturday at 10 a.m. Saturday at Knightstown United Methodist Church with the Rev. Ken Wells officiating. Burial will follow in Knightstown's Glen Cove Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday at Todd Funeral Home, Knightstown Chapel. Memorial contributions may be made to Knightstown United Methodist Church or the Alzheimer's Association. |
