| About | Richard E. Stephen, 82, of Rushville, died Tuesday, May 27, 2008. Born Feb. 2, 1926 in Rushville, he was the son of Lewis and Mildred (Campbell) Stephen, both deceased. He married Lee Drake Aug. 11, 1949; she survives. Mr. Stephen lived his early life in Rushville, resided in California from 1960 to 1988, and has lived in Rushville since then. He was employed by Quality Assurance TRW in Redondo Beach, Calif. for 17 years, retiring in 1986. He was a 1944 graduate of Rushville High School and attended Community College in California for two years. He was Past Master of Masonic Lodge No. 753 F.&A.M. in Manhattan Beach, Calif., a member of OES No. 397 in Bellflower, Calif. and belonged to the Scottish Rite in Long Beach, Calif. He was a U.S. Air Force veteran of World War II. Survivors in addition to his wife include daughter, Carole Lee (Jonathan) Knowles of Puyallup, Wash.; five grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday at Moster Mortuary in Rushville with Pastor Mick Saunders officiating. Burial will follow in Arlington East Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be after 9:30 a.m. Friday at the mortuary. |
