About | Robert O. Sheppard, 74, of Rushville, died Saturday, March 10, 2007 at Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis. Born Feb. 3, 1933 in Franklin County, he was the son of Gordon and Mary (Oneal) Sheppard, both deceased. He married Ruby Gowdy Sept. 16, 1956; she survives. Mr. Sheppard lived most of his life in Rush County and was a 1952 graduate of Rushville High School. He owned and operated Sheppard's Antenna Service. He was a member of Trinity United Presbyterian Church, Phoenix Lodge No. 62 F.&A.M., and the Indiana Horseshoe Pitchers' Association. He was also a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War. Survivors in addition to his wife include two sons, Stuart Sheppard (and wife Kim) of Bentonville, Ark., and Brent Sheppard (and wife Valerie) of Cincinnati, Ohio; one brother, Richard Sheppard (and wife Janet) of Port Charlotte, Fla.; one sister, Carolyn (Mrs. Thomas) Horsely of Madison Heights, Va.; and three grandchildren. Besides his parents he was preceded in death by one granddaughter. Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Todd Funeral Home in Rushville with Pastor Mick Saunders officiating. Burial will follow in Rushville's East Hill Cemetery and will include a graveside military service. Visitation will be from 2 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. |
