| About | Ruth P. Sembach, 94, a lifelong Rush County resident, passed away at 9:55 AM Thursday, May 5, 2011 at her home in Glenwood. Ruth P. Saunders was born June 23, 1916 in Rushville, IN to Roy and Inez (Reynolds) Saunders, both deceased. She married Dedrich "Dick" Sembach on February 9, 1935 and he survives. She was co-owner & operator of the E. 9th St. Grocery in Rushville. Ruth was a longtime member of the Glenwood United Methodist church where she played the organ from 1950-1990. She had a love for music, accomplished on the piano, organ and flute. She was a member of the Music Study Club, a 1934 Rushville High School graduate, avid quilter and great cook. In addition to her husband, Dedrich of Glenwood, Ruth is survived by her sons, William R. & wife Janet of Arlington, Paul & wife Lisa of Glenwood, daughters, Julia & husband Allen Coon of Glenwood, Becky Fancher of Rushville, sister, Miriam Russell of Middletown, IN, 12 grandchildren, 26 great grandchildren and 17 great-great grandchildren. Ruth was preceded in death by her parents, an infant daughter, Sarah in 1952, an infant sister, Martha and sister, Elaine. Pastor Phil Mitchell & Rev. Jay Noll will preside.
