About | RUSHVILLE — Sally M. Wiley, 91, Indianapolis, passed away Jan. 4, 2013 in Connersville. She was born Oct. 18, 1921 in Burkesville, Ky. to Robert and Grace (McFarland) Humphrey. She spent her early life in the Falmouth area in Rush County, graduating from Rushville High School in 1940. She had lived in Indianapolis since 1973, spending only the last few years in Connersville. Sally married Paul L. Wiley May 23, 1943; he preceded her in death May 30, 1976. Sally worked for an accountant (Leah Coons) in the 1960s and retired from the American Cancer Society in 1986 after several years. She was a member of Fairview Christian Church and past member of the Senior Citizen's Center in Indianapolis. She is survived by a son, Gary (Linda) Wiley of McCordsville; daughters, Donna Kay Walcott of Indianapolis and Marcia (Michael) Drew of Milton; 10 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; and lifetime friends, Maria Young of Arizona and Ann Grant of Indianapolis. Besides her parents and husband preceding her in death, there was also a son, Bruce Wiley; a sister, Helen Clinton; a brother, Edgar Hauenstine; and lifetime friend, Terri Fecher. Services for Sally will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 8 at Moster Mortuary, Rushville, where friends are welcome to visit from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday. Pastor T.J. Doyle will preside. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society. |
