About | Seraph A. Redden, 85, a lifelong resident of Rush County, passed away May 15, 2010 at Miller's Merry Manor. Born Feb. 9, 1925 in Arlington, she was the daughter of Dewey and Jennie (Dyer) Marshall, both deceased. She married Howard Redden April 14, 1945; he survives. Mrs. Redden was a housewife. She was a member of Center Christian Church where she was a Sunday School teacher for many years. She also was a 4-H leader for many years. She was a 1943 graduate of Rushville High School. Survivors in addition to her husband include sons, Stephen (Margie) Redden of New Palestine, David (Tammy) Redden of Noblesville and Joseph (Mary Richie) Redden of Rushville; daughters, Mary Ann (Randy) Kirk of Corydon and Lisa (Steve) Moore of Johnson City, Tenn.; sisters, Maribel Coats of Richmond and Evelyn (Marc) Ellis of Rushville; 12 grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by twin great-grandsons in 2007. Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Center Christian Church with Pastor Keet Redden and Bill Worrell officiating. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Center Christian Church. Burial will be in Center Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Center Cemetery.
