| About | Stephen P. Owens 48, of Connersville, passed away May 3, 2015 at his residence following his battle with Lou Gehrig’s disease, with his wife by his side. Steve was born July 5, 1966 in Rushville, a son of the late Louis & Francis Stern Owens. Steve married Candy Grough Oct. 10, 2001 and she survives. He was a 1985 graduate of Rushville Consolidated High School and retired as the manager at Shelby Materials in Rushville. He was a member of the Elks Lodge and a former member of the Knights of Columbus. In addition to his wife Candy, he is survived by a daughter Shelby Owens of Rushville; a son, Terry Owens; step daughter, Nicole (Paul) Martin; and step son, Jason (Karen) Graves all of Connersville. Two sisters Mindy (Dave) Houchins of Hope, IN and Lisa (Troy) Barnes of Columbus, IN; a brother Tony (Michelle) Owens also of Columbus; and eight grandchildren also survive. Addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother and one nephew. A Celebration of Life will be held 12:30pm Thursday May 7th at Todd Funeral Centre & Crematory in Rushville with Father Dustin Boehm officiating. Friends may call after 10 AM on Thursday.
