After high school she moved to Greenfield in Hancock County, Indiana where she was employed at Miller & Jones Shoe Store on Main Street. In 1936 Virginia and Robert (Bob) Welter were married at the Greenfield Christian Church. They had four children. Virginia died on 12 August 1975 after a long battle with cancer.
