About Wayne E. Dearinger, 84, of Rushville, died March 16, 2007 at Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis.

Born Aug. 29, 1922 in Rushville, he was the son of Russell and Alma (Jessup) Dearinger, both deceased. He married Hildred M. Sorrell June 24, 1941; she survives.

Mr. Dearinger was a 1941 graduate of Rushville High School and was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II. As a lieutenant in the Army Air Corps, he was a flight instructor for army pilots. He retired from Schnadig Furniture Corporation where he worked as a time study engineer. He was a member of the Phoenix Lodge No. 62 F.&A.M. in Rushville and was the Worshipful Master in 1954. He served several positions in the Rush Chapter No. 24, Rush Council No. 41 and Rushville Commandry No. 49 of York Rite. He was Illustrious Master of the Year in 1995. He was also active in the Scottish Rite. He was a member and longtime deacon of Main Street Christian Church.

Survivors in addition to his wife include one sister, Evelyn Safewright of Stewart Fla.; two step grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Besides his parents he was preceded in death by one daughter, Diane Catlin.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Main Street Christian Church in Rushville with Pastor Hank Anderson officiating. Burial will follow in Rushville's East Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday, with a Masonic service at 7:30 p.m., at Todd Funeral Home in Rushville.
