About | William A. Paugh, 79, of Rushville, died Aug. 15, 2008. Born July 21, 1929 in Rush County, he was the son of Virgil and Betty (Foley) Paugh, both deceased. He married Lois Salomon Jan. 14, 1955; she survives. Mr. Paugh was a lifelong Rush County resident and a 1947 graduate or Rushville High School where he was a member of the track team; he still holds a school record. A U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War, he worked for Overleese Well Drilling for 20 years and Lanning paint store where he refinished furniture for 21 years, retiring in 2001. He was a member of First Presbyterian Church where he had been an Elder, Deacon and member of the choir. Survivors in addition to his wife include son, Dirk (Valorie) Paugh of San Antonio, Texas; and one grandson, Dirk Paugh II. Besides his parents he was preceded in death by sisters, Wilna Hochsteter and Edna Freeman. Services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at First Presbyterian Church with the Rev. Dena Vittorio officiating. Burial will follow in East Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. today at Moster Mortuary in Rushville. |
