| About | William Ellison Jr., 88, a lifelong Rush County resident, passed away at 4:40 a.m. Saturday, June 4, 2011 at his home. He was born April 1, 1923 in Rush County to William and Lula (Schaeffer) Ellison, both deceased. William married Katherine Ross June 10, 1951; she survives. He was employed with Allison's Detroit Diesel in Indianapolis from 1951 until retiring in 1992. During the 1940s, he was employed by Stevens Brothers Clothing Store in Rushville. He was a member of Main Street Christian Church for over 50 years. During that time, he had been a board member and a Deacon. He was a 1941 Rushville High School graduate and a World War II U.S. Army veteran. In addition to his wife, Katherine C. Ellison of Rushville, he leaves behind his daughter, Susan Rennekamp of Rushville; his sister, Frances Ellison of Rushville; and six grandchildren, Brad, Bryan and Abby Leigh Ellison and Greg, Leanna and Jeff Rennekamp. William was preceded in death by one son, Lynn Ellison; and one sister, Jeanette. A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, June 8 at Moster Mortuary, Rushville with Pastor Sam Davenport officiating. Friends are welcome to visit from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the mortuary. Burial will be in Rushville's East Hill Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Main Street Christian Church (RFT Fund) or the Hospice of South Central Indiana. |
