| About | William M. "Billy" Tompkins, 48, a life long Rush County resident, passed away suddenly on Wednesday, March 20, 2013 in Indianapolis. He was born March 3, 1965 in Rushville to John M. & Rebecca Belle (Bryan) Tompkins. Billy was a 1984 graduate of Rushville Consolidated High School. He married Teresa Whited on March 12, 1994 and she survives. Billy was a truck driver for Ag Production Enterprises in Greensburg for the last 11 years. He was a member of the Raleigh Fire Department and the Pioneer Engineers Club of Rush County. He enjoyed antique John Deere tractors. Survivors in addition to his wife, Teresa, of Rush County, include a son, Joshua A. Tompkins of Morristown, brothers, Larry & wife Debbie Tompkins of Rushville, Marshall & wife Sue Tompkins of Carthage, Mike & wife Wanda Tompkins of Morristown and Mark & wife Sherry Tompkins of Carthage and a sister, Sharon & husband Gary Evans of Rushville. He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, Johnny and a sister, Ruth Ellen Foley. Services will be held at 10 AM Tuesday, March 26 at Moster Mortuary, Rushville where friends are welcome to visit from 4-8PM on Monday evening. Danny Shelton will preside and burial will be in the Glen Cove Cemetery in Knightstown. Memorial contributions may be made to the Raleigh Fire Department or the Pioneer Engineer's Club of Rush County. |
