About | The Rushville Republican Sat Mar 24, 2007 William W. Gilpin Jr., 62, of Rushville, died Thursday, March 22, 2007 at Rush Memorial Hospital. Born April 7, 1944 in Poplarville, Miss., he was the son of William W. and Olga (Kennedy) Gilpin, both deceased. He married Linda Adams July 3, 1982; she survives. Mr. Gilpin was a 1962 graduate of Rushville High School and lived most of his life in Rushville. He taught machine shop at the Jeff Davis Community College in Mississippi. He was a self-employed construction worker for 15 years, and worked for 15 years as a lab technician at INTAT, retiring in 2006. A U.S. Air Force veteran of the Vietnam War, he was a past member of the VFW and Eagles. Survivors in addition to his wife include two sons, Rob Plough of Ohio and Ryan Plough of Liberty; two daughters, Rene (Mrs. Robert) Arnett of Sandusky and Raeann Precht of Connersville; two brothers, Jerry L. Gilpin of Rushville and Mark Gilpin of Connersville; one sister, Pamela (Mrs. Dennis) Elzy of Arlington; 10 grandchildren; and one great-grandson. Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday at Moster & Cox Mortuary in Rushville with Pastor Jerry Holdman officiating. Burial will follow in Arlington East Hill Cemetery and will include a graveside military service conducted by the Rush County Veterans Honor Guard. Visitation will be from 2 to 6 p.m. Sunday at the mortuary. Memorial contributions may be made to Rush County Bikers Toys for Tots c/o the mortuary. |
