About | Wilma C. Haining, 87, a lifetime resident of Rushville, passed away at 9:50 PM Saturday, November 26, in Greensburg. Wilma was born on September 8, 1924 in Rushville to the late William & Loretta (Eckel) Haverkos. She was a 1942 graduate of Rushville High School. She was a lifetime member of St. Mary Catholic Church where she headed the dining room for the Fall Festival from 1968 until 2000, she was also one of the Belles of St. Mary. She was active in the Rushville BPW, the RCHS Alumni Association, making all the name tags for 30 years, the Kappa Kappa Sigma Sorority-Beta Chapter and was a bookkeeper for 24 years at Moster Mortuary, retiring in 1990. She also kept books for Mr. Freshie Donuts and Hittle Framing. Wilma married Lowell "Ducky" Hittle on June 10, 1945. She married Thomas Haining in 1974. She is survived by her daughter, Susie & husband William D. Case, Jr. and son, David L. & wife Tina (Dunn) Hittle both of Rushville, 6 grandsons, 2 step grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren, 9 step great grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren. Wilma was preceded in death by a brother, James Haverkos. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Mary Catholic Church at 11 AM Thursday, December 1 with Father Jeremy Gries presiding. Friends are welcome to visit from 4 until 8 PM Wednesday, November 30 at Moster Mortuary, Rushville. A Prayer Service will be conducted at 3:30 Wednesday at the mortuary and there will be a sorority service that evening at 7 PM. Burial will be in Rushville's Calvary Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be given to the St. Mary School Foundation, St. Mary Church or the Alzheimer's Association |
