About | Wyverine Copley, 82, a lifelong Rushville resident, passed away at 12:07 AM Thursday, July 5 in Rushville. She was born March 8, 1930 in Rushville, the last of 10 children born to Salem & Anna (Jenkins) Keith. She married Oliver "Junior" Copley on March 28, 1952 and he preceded her in death on April 7, 2001. Wyverine was very active at the First Baptist Church in Rushville. She was a member of the Democratic Party and was voted Woman of the Year by the party at one time. She volunteered at Rush Memorial Hospital, worked in the cafeteria at RHS and had also worked at International Furniture many years ago. Survivors include her sons, Paul W. & wife Wanda Copley and Larry & wife Ann Copley, both of Rushville, grandchildren, Shannon Smith, Stephanie (James) King, Tracey (Eric) Maples, Jamie (Matt) Clanton, Katie (Matt) Isaacs, Elizabeth (Luke) Whittaker, Samantha Copley and Chantel (John Paul) Fowler, step grandchildren, Mike (Debbie) Cameron and Pat (Michelle) Cameron, 19 great grandchildren also survive. In addition to her parents and husband, Wyverine was preceded in death by a daughter, Peggy, sisters, Stella, Myrtle, Belva and Marjorie and brothers, Daniel, Chester, William, Salem and Jimmy Keith. Services will be held Monday, July 9 at 11 AM at the First Baptist Church in Rushville. Friends are welcome to visit from 9:30 AM until service time. Rev. Jay Noll will preside and burial will be in Rushville's East Hill Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the First Baptist Church or the Gideon's Society. |
