About | Connie Kay VanArsdale, age 65 of rural Media, Illinois died at 8:58 a.m. Thursday May 17, 2012 in the Great River Hospice House in West Burlington, Iowa. She was born December 14, 1946 in Yankton, South Dakota, the daughter of Harold and LaVaune Anderson Atteberry. On November 13, 1976, she married Paul VanArsdale in Burlington. Connie was a graduate of Burlington High School. She worked as a teacher�s aide for seventeen years for the former Southern School District in Stronghurst and currently West Central School District. She was a Henderson County 4-H leader for many years and was a member of the Raritan Reformed Church. She enjoyed sewing, cooking, scrap booking, flowers, and most importantly, her children and grandchildren. Survivors include her husband, three daughters- Amanda Seitz of Stronghurst, Jenny (Miles) Stevenson of Andalusia, IL., Amy (Joe) Candelaria of Denver, CO., five grandchildren- Brynna and Addison Seitz, Kaylyn, Chloe, and Henna Stevenson, one sister- Donna Troulliet of Tennessee, and three brothers- Jack (Cindy) Atteberry, Danny (Vicki) Atteberry, and Chuck (Connie) Atteberry all of Burlington, Iowa. She was preceded in death by her parents. The family will receive friends from 5:00 until 8:00 p.m. Sunday at Banks & Beals Funeral Home in Stronghurst. The funeral service for Mrs. VanArsdale will be held at 10:00 a.m. Monday May 21, 2012 in the Raritan Reformed Church with Rev. Terry Muller officiating. Burial will be in the Raritan Cemetery. A memorial fund has been established for the Raritan Reformed Church. |
