John Thomas "Tom" Wiemer, 47, of Prairie Village, KS, died at 10 a.m. Sunday, September 11, 1994, at his home. Born September 30, 1946, in Burlington, he was the son of John A. and Helen Carlson Wiemer. Mr. Wiemer was a U.S. AirForce veteran of the Vietnam War. He was a graduate of Burlington High School, Burlington Community College and Finley Engineering School in Kansas City, where he received a degree in architectural engineering. He was self-employed. He was a member of the Second Church of Christ Scientists in Kansas City, the Kansas Rod and Gun Club and Mokan Model Railroaders. Survivors include his mother, Helen Wiemer of Burlington, one sister, Vicki Gerdes of Burlington and two nieces and one nephew. He was preceded in death by his father. The funeral for Mr. Wiemer will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the Muchlebach Funeral Home in Kansas City. The family will receive friends fro 1:30 to 4 p.m. Wednesday at Prugh's Chapel. Graveside services for Mr. Wiemer will be at 4 p.m. Wednesday in Aspen Grove Cemetary with Mrs. Dorothy McHugh officiating. A memorial has been established for the Christian Science Society of Burlington. |
