Randy N. Wittmer, 52, of Iowa City, formerly of Burlington, died November 18, 1998, at his home. Born May 31, 1946 in Mt. Pleasant, he was the son of David Ezra and Madeline Ruth Nuss Wittmer. In 1974, he married Marsha Cathcart. Mr. Wittmer was a 1964 graduate of Burlington High School. He attended Burlington Community College and later Iowa Wesleyan College in Mt. Pleasant. He was a Vietnam War Navy veteran. He worked in sales in Madison, WI and St. Petersburg, FL. He moved to Iowa City in 1994. He was a former member of Bethany Lutheran Church in Burlington. He enjoyed pipe organ, playing in various Burlington churches. Survivors include one sister, Shelley Brenner of Iowa City; one niece; and one nephew. He was preceded in death by his parents. The body of Mr. Wittmer has been cremated. A private family memorial for Mr. Wittmer will be at a later date. The Lensing Funeral and Cremation Service of Iowa City is in charge of arrangements. |
