Kevin Dean Hauskins, 65, of Marion, Iowa, entered eternal rest on Wednesday, Sept. 13, 2023, at Mercy Medical Center in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. A memorial service will begin at 5 p.m. on Sunday, Sept. 17, 2023, at Marion Free Methodist Church, 2690 25th Ave. in Marion, with visitation one hour prior to service. Kevin was born on Sept. 14, 1957, in Cedar Rapids, the son of Howard and Mary (Holvenstot) Hauskins. On Aug. 10, 1984, Kevin was united in marriage to Karen Bear at Marion Free Methodist Church. Kevin was a man of many gifts. Together with his brothers, Kevin toured all over the country as a member of the Hauskins Singers band, with whom he recorded two albums. Most recently, Kevin could be found assisting customers and sharing his kind smile at the True Value Hardware store on Mt. Vernon Road. Kevin adored his family and enjoyed spending time with them. He was also a devoted member of and leader at his church. His light and life will be missed by all who knew and loved him. Kevin is survived by his children, Carrie (Bill) Brown of Council Bluffs, Iowa, Jennifer (Tony) Kelso of Council Bluffs, Don (Charlotte) Hauskins of Marion, Jeremy Hauskins (Marissa Kolander) of Cedar Rapids, brother Tom (Deb) Hauskins of Cedar Rapids, nine grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Karen, sister Kathleen Hauskins, and brother Timothy Hauskins. Memorials in Kevin's memory may be directed to his son, Jeremy Hauskins, and mailed to the Marion Free Methodist Church. |
