| About | WHEATLAND, Iowa - Daniel W. Brooks, 51, of Grass Valley, Calif., passed away November 9, 2009, at home after an extended illness. Danny was born January 2, 1958, in DeWitt, Iowa, a son of Vivian Bitner and Willis Brooks. With his father being an Air Force career man, the family lived various places throughout his youth, including Hawaii and Germany. He graduated from Durant High School in 1976. After graduation Dan moved to Grass Valley, California, where he worked as a surveyor and construction worker throughout his career. Dan loved music and played the drums in several bands. He also enjoyed watching old movies and spending time outdoors. He will be fondly remembered as "Boone" by his friends. Those left to honor his memory include his mother, Vivian Bitner, of Wheatland, Iowa; his father, Willis (Darla) Brooks, of Bella Vista, Ark.; his brother, Jeff (Diane) Brooks, of Missoula, Mont.; and one niece, Ellen Brooks, of Missoula, Mont. |
