About | nn was born on September 12, 1946 in Burlington, Iowa, the son of Paul R. and Audrey Jean "James" Swails. He grew up in the Burlington, Wapello and New London, Iowa areas until the family moved to Jefferson County in 1952, where as a young man he helped his step-father, Ralph Lessenger on the family farm South of Lockridge. He attended Clay Hill, a one room school house until 6th grade when the school district consolidated. He then attended 7th and 8th grade at Lockridge. Lynn then went on to graduate from Fairfield High School in June 1964. Lynn's comment's at high school graduation: Letter Club member participating in track, football and wrestling. Thespians work on programs for the public's delight. Study of Spanish and Latin are basis for language club memberships. Iowa Wesleyan College takes Lynn to Mount Pleasant, IA. Lynn married Nancy Nelson of Fairfield, IA., in 1964. They later divorced. Lynn married Gail Russell of La Follette, Tennessee on March 3, 1982. Lynn & Gail was a well known breeder of Old English Sheepdogs, known as Shaggeybark Kennels in Tennessee. Lynn passed away at home a day after a heart procedure on 3rd July, went home the next day 4th July and passed away upon arriving home what was thought of as a blood clot. He is survived by his wife Gail and a stepsister, Margaret (Stephen Gardner) Lessenger. Children Kim, Kerry, Kris and Alisa. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Larry M. Swails. |
