About | Roger Hollander Dies Following Heart Surgery Roger Mervin Hollander, junior student at the Fairfield Community high school, died about 6:30 p.m. Wednesday at the University hospital in Iowa City following heart surgery earlier in the day. He was the son of Mr. and Mrs. Mervin Hollander, rural route #1, Fairfield. Funeral services will be Saturday at 2 p.m. at the Lutheran church with the Rev, Hoyt L. Whitebread officiating. Burial will be in the Memorial Lawn cemetery. The body will be taken from the Raymond Funeral Home to the church at 1 p.m. Roger Mervin Hollander, 18, was born May 18, 1945, the son of Mervin and Mazie Hollander, rural route #1, Fairfield. He was reared in and graduated schools in Jefferson county. While a student at the Fairfield Community high school he was active in the Fairfield Chapter of the Future Farmers of America, and was a member of the vocal music department. In addition to his parents, the youth is survived by two sisters, Mrs. Richard Robinson, Fairfield, and Linda, at home. He is also survived by his grandmother, Mrs. Fred Messer, Fairfield; his grandfather, Ephriam Hollander, Fairfield; one niece and one nephew. |
