About | Sharon K. Samuelson James age 75 of Fairfield passed away Tuesday, January 12, 2021, at the University of Iowa Hospital & Clinics. There will be an Open Visitation from 5:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m., Wednesday, January 20, 2021, at Behner Funeral Home. Following the visitation, she will be cremated and burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery at a later date. Please follow the COVID guidelines of wearing masks and social distancing. In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established and can be mailed to Stephanie Coffin, 709 South 5th Street, Fairfield, Iowa 52556. Sharon was born December 12, 1945, to Ernest and Viola (Messer) Samuelson. She married Howard Coffin on December 26, 1965. They later divorced but stayed friends. He passed away on April 22, 2018. On September 7, 1996, she married Edward James and he passed away August 2, 2005. Sharon worked at Fairfield Line as a graphic artist and J & B Plastics as an administrative assistant. She collected antiques and then opened Timeless Treasures. Sharon was an honorary member of the Elks Club and had worked as a server. She enjoyed baking, being on social media and her cats. Sharon will be missed by her daughters, Stephanie Coffin of Fairfield, Paige (Craig) Nance of Fayetteville, NC, Courtney (Thomas) Colby of Leander, Texas and Jacy (Mohamed) Ahmed of Cedar Rapids; 7 grandchildren, Drew Coffin, Sophie Stratton, Lauren Colby, Caroline Colby, Scarlett Bunnell, Sacha Bunnell and Layla Ahmed; her siblings, Gary Samuelson of Fairfield and Helen Niederhuth of Stockport. She was preceded in death by her parents, Ernest and Viola; her two husbands, Howard Coffin and Edward James; son-in-law, Steve Wallace; two brothers, Kenneth and Melvin Samuelson; and her friend, Ron Puett. |
