About | Dean Ballou July 28, 2013 6:00 am INDEPENDENCE — Dean Walter Ballou, 63, of Eastlake, Colo., formerly of Independence, died at home Tuesday, July 23, of cancer. He was born June 16, 1950, in Independence, son of Walter and Maxine Miller Ballou. He married Nancy Tinkler in 1972 and they later divorced. Mr. Ballou worked in real estate and home remodeling. Survived by: his mother of Independence; three daughters, Michelle Mitchener of Wheat Ridge, Colo., Amanda Ballou of Federal Heights, Colo., and Laura Huber of Denver, Colo.; five grandchildren; and a sister, Carole Franz of Independence. Preceded in death by: his father. Celebration of Life service: 2 p.m. today at Franz family farm, 2408 Nelson Ave., Independence. Dean was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting, fishing, and camping with his dog Cartridge. He collected antique walnut furniture, and spent many happy hours working in his shop. His grandchildren brought him great joy and his handcrafted walnut pieces will be treasured heirlooms. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends. |
