About | Don Sears passed away Thursday afternoon, December 27, 2012. He was much loved by all of you and he loved ALL of you. We will all miss him a great deal. Don was born April 4, 1932 in Webster City, IA. He married Marilyn Dahl on April 1, 1951. They were married for over 61 years. Don is survived by his wife and 3 children %u2013 son Don Jr, daughter-in-law Mary Alice, granddaughter Erin Morgan and grandson Brian; son Dave, grandson Tony; daughter Deb. He is also survived by his brother Frank & Joy and sisters-in-law Meredith and Dennie. Don spent a number of years as a meat cutter and meat manager in Iowa, before moving to Yankton, SD to manage the Lil%u2019 Duffer family restaurant. He worked there with his family for almost 20 years. In 1995, Don & Marilyn moved to Texas to be with their daughter Deb. While in Texas Don enjoyed many years of golfing and made some great golfing friends. Don also sang with various community choruses through the years. He loved to sing and really enjoyed his time with others who loved to sing. Don and Marilyn spent many years boating as well and greatly enjoyed living on the lake in the summers and spending lots of time with all of the other boaters. |
