About Diane Kay Kluver, 72 of Le Mars, Iowa, passed away on Friday, April 1, 2022 at Floyd Valley Hospital in Le Mars.

Mass of Christian Burial will be 1:00 p.m., Tuesday, April 5, 2022 at All Saints Parish – St. Joseph Catholic Church in Le Mars with Reverend Bruce Lawler officiating. Burial will follow at St. Catherine’s Cemetery in Oyens, Iowa. Visitation with the family present will begin at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday and will continue until the service time at the church. Arrangements are with Rexwinkel Funeral Home of Le Mars. Expressions of sympathy may be expressed to the family through www.rexwinkelfh.com.

Diane Kay Petersen was born on March 12, 1950 in Sioux City, Iowa to Leonard and Gladys (Lindgren) Petersen. She grew up in Moville and graduated from Woodbury Central High School in 1969. Diane was united in marriage to Richard Kluver on July 31, 1970 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Oto, Iowa. They made their home in Smithland, Iowa until 1977 when they moved to Oyens, Iowa. Diane primarily stayed home raising their three children and providing in-home day care. She did work a few various jobs that included taking farm calls for Simonsen’s, working at Harker’s and later Tyson. In 1997 they moved to Missouri Valley, Iowa to be closer to their son, Ryan. Diane continued providing in-home daycare. Diane retired when they moved back to Le Mars in 2016.

Diane’s favorite time was spent with her family, especially her grandchildren. She loved cooking for them and will be remembered as a wonderful cook! Their family enjoyed going camping when their children were young. Later in life Diane and Richard continued camping in their motorhome traveling to see family as well as going to the Black Hills, Branson, and Minnesota. Diane enjoyed crafting, specifically holiday crafts, and crocheting. Diane and Richard also enjoyed being in a volleyball club, bowling team, and a card club. Diane was a member at St. Catherine’s Catholic Church in Oyens and later at All Saints Parish in Le Mars.

Diane is survived by her husband of 51 years, Richard; son, Chad (Twilla) Kluver of Le Mars; daughter, Heidi (Daniel) Landsness of Le Mars; three grandchildren: Shelby (Patrick) Sowl of Le Mars, Tyler Feeny-Kluver of Le Mars, and Dylan Rasmussen of Ankeny; one great grandchild, Jackson Sowl; three siblings: Joe (Debbie) Petersen of Moville, IA, Barb (Tom) Thiesen of Lawton, IA, and Kevin (Stacey) Petersen of Moville, IA; three siblings in law: Clayton (Paula) Kluver, Jim (Sandy) Kluver, and Gary (Karla) Kluver; many nieces, nephews, and other relatives.

Diane is preceded in death by her parents, Leonard and Gladys (Lindgren) Petersen; son, Richard Ryan Kluver; parents in law, Roy C. and Lourine M. (Uhl) Kluver; and niece, Courtney Bruneau.

Diane’s family would like to thank the staff at the Good Samaritan Society of Le Mars for the wonderful care that Diane received while staying there.
