About | Funeral services for Eric J. Scweitzer, D.D.S., M.S., 30, of Lansing, were conducted at noon Saturday, at the St. Casimir Catholic Church by the Rev. William Haegelin. He died Thursday, April 21, 1994 at his home. His death was ruled a suicide. He was born October 11, 1963 in Salt Lake City, UT, the son of Wava Almeda (Rickley) Schweitzer of Wakefield, and the late Jay Dean Schweitzer. He was a 1982 graduate of Chapman High School, a 1986 graduate of Kansas State University, a 1989 graduate of the University of Nebraska Medical Center College of Dentistry, and a 1992 graduate of the University of Missouri, Kansas City School of Orthodontics. He married Vicky M. Lavick on May 18, 1991 in Godfrey, Illinois. Eric was a specialist in dental orthodontics in Leavenworth and practiced one day per week in Atchison. He was a member of St. Casimir Catholic Church in Leavenworth, the American Dental Association, the American Association of Orthodontics, and the Kansas City Tweed Study Club for orthodontists. Survivors include his wife of the home; his mother of Wakefield; one sister, Jayna E. Schweitzer of Wakefield; and his maternal grandparnts, Orval and Elma Rickley of Wakefield. He was preceded in death by his father in May 1989. Visitation was from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, April 22, 1994 at St. Casimir Catholic Church. A prayer service was held at 7 p.m. that evening. A luncheon was held at 11 a.m. Saturday, April 23. A graveside service was held at 3:30 p.m., Saturday, April 23, 1994 at St. John's Cemetery, northwest of Junction City with the Rev. Richard Lutgen officiating. Barnett-Larkin-Brown Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. |
