| About | Linda Lucille Puhr, 21, of Junction City died June 24, 1985 at approximately 3:50 pm at the University of Kansas Medical Center burn unit in Kansas City, Kansas. She received multiple 2nd and 3rd degree burns to over 60% of her body when her apartment caught fire on June 14, 1985. Linda was born February 22, 1964 at Fort Ord, California to Allen K. and Gisella A. (Krischke) Puhr. Her family moved to the Upland area in 1970 and she attended the USD 473 Chapman schools. She graduated from Chapman High School in 1982. She had been employed as a wood refinisher for a furniture store in Junction City. Survivors include her parents, Allen K. and Gisella A. (Krischke) Puhr; a brother, Allen Jr.; a sister Theresa Howard; and a nephew, Tobias Howard, all of Junction City; her paternal grandmother, Lucille Puhr Buie of Kansas City, MO.; and her maternal grandmother, Anna Krischke of West Germany. The funeral mass was held at 11 am, Thursday, June 27, 1985 at St. Xavier's Catholic Church with the Rev. Louis Mattas officiating. A rosary was recited at 7 pm, Wednesday, June 26, 1985 at Mass-Hinitt-Alexander Funeral Home. Burial was in St. Mary's Cemetery in Junction City. |
