About | Ronald Gene Acker, 34, died at Abilene Memorial Hospital on November 6, 1997. Ronald was born the son of Larry and Sandra Acker on September 2, 1963 in Junction City. He was a general construction worker who worked on roads, pipelines, heavy construction, and helped form basements. Ronald was involved in an automobile accident in January 1997 on I-70 in western Geary County that left him paralyzed. He was a patient at Salina Regional Medical Center and St. Francis Hospital in Wichita. Then, he was transferred to the Kansas Rehabilitation Center in Topeka. In June of 1997 he was moved to the Abilene Health Center as a resident because he could no longer take care of himself. His health continued to fail, and he died at Abilene Memorial Hospital on November 6, 1997. He was cremated. His memorial service was at the Londeen Funeral Home on November 10, 1997. Inurnment of his ashes took place at the Good Hope Cemetery northeast of Chapman. |
