About | Stan was born July 19th, 1948 to Norman and Mae Belle Hemken. He has 3 other brothers with him being the second born. By 1966 he graduated from La Crosse, KS. Right around the corner in 1968 he then enlisted into the Navy and was honorably discharged December of 1971. From there he would make his way to Midwest City, OK to work for The Civil Service as an Aircraft Mechanic at Tinker, AFB, OK and eventually retire after 34 years. He was the husband of Cindy Hemken for 48 years together, having son Timothy S. Hemken. They lived in Choctaw, OK where he would eventually build by hand, their own greenhouse looking out to an acre plot where many flower beds and koi ponds would be tended by both their hands. Stan also had a heart after God and his kindness reflected this. He had other hobbies too, he and Cindy enjoyed playing electric guitar together, Cindy may have had a helping hand in that one. In his early retired years he enjoyed golf on the regular. There would be camping memories and many family vacations. Over the years of the Hemken Family there would be yearly reunions, they were successful in their planning for 40 years. He was a family man but also kept close with his school classmates. Survivors include: wife, Cindy Hemken, Choctaw, OK; son, Tim Hemken, Del City, OK; brother, Mike Hemken, Clayton, IN; brother, Wes Hemken, Rush Center, KS, and brother Harvey Hemken, Winona, KS. Not to forget his cats along their lifetime that were just as close as family members Blu, Muffin, Boots, Cyrus, Tahlia, and their current cat Pearl. She sure misses his lap. He was preceded in death by his parents. |
