Donna Hornberger BeguelinFuneral services for Donna Hornberger Beguelin, 79, Lawrence, will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, November 12, 2012 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Lawrence. Burial will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery in Lawrence. She died on Thursday, November 8, 2012 at Lawrence Memorial Hospital. Donna was born on December 1, 1932 in Lawrence, KS, the daughter of Scott N. and Bertha E. (Candreia) Bailey. Donna graduated in 1951 from Liberty Memorial High School, Lawrence, KS. She owned and operated Pride and Joy, a children's clothing store in the 1960's. She worked as a Client Service Representative for George Noland Insurance, Landreth, McGrew & Johnson and with Marsh McClennan until she retired in 1989. She was a lifelong member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Lawrence and the Dorsey-Liberty Post Unit 14 of American Legion Auxiliary. She decorated veteran's graves for 31 years in Oak Hill Cemetery for Memorial Day. She was also a Girl Scout Leader from 1963-1974.Donna married Marlin A. Hornberger on September 28, 1952. He preceded her in death on January 28, 1991. She then married Robert F. Beguelin on June 3, 1994 in Lawrence. He survives of the home. Other survivors include three daughters, Ellen (Gary) Bartz of Lawrence, Gayle (Greg) Daniels of Topeka, KS, Ann Rogers of Stilwell, KS; one step daughter, Barbara (Ace) Kluver of Hastings, NE; one step son, Robert (Linda) Beguelin of Joy, IL; four grandchildren, James Brown, Jr, Garrett Daniels, Marlee Rogers, Mitchell Rogers; five step grandchildren, Christopher Goedert, Elizabeth Bell, Ellen Beguelin, Daniel Beguelin, Taylor Beguelin, three step great grandchildren, Baily Cantrell, Sadye Bell and Bradyn Bell. She was preceded in death by her parents, two sisters, Mary Ann Roberts and Dorothy Gensler.The family will greet friends on Sunday from 1-3 p.m. at Warren-McElwain Mortuary in Lawrence. The family suggests memorials in her name to Trinity Lutheran Church for Scholarships towards Summer Camp, LMH Oncology or American Legion Unit 14 and may be sent in care of the mortuary.
