| About | OBITUARY AS LISTED IN THE DODGE CITY DAILY GLOBE SPEARVILLE — Rick J. Strecker, 46, died Wednesday, Dec. 22, 2010, at Garden City. He was born March 18, 1964, to Carl and Lyla J. (Stein) Strecker at Spearville. On June 2, 1990, he married Laura Batley at Las Vegas. They later divorced. He was an employee of IBT at Garden City. Survivors include two daughters, Kyleen Strecker of Pipestone, Minnesota, and Kayra Strecker of Platte City, Mo.; two sisters, Renee Ricke and husband, Terry, of Medicine Lodge and Rakel Halling and husband, Jim, of Spearville; his parents, Carl and Lyla Strecker of Spearville; brother and sister-in-law, Jeff and Pamela Strecker-Schulte of Spearville; 3 nephews: Kolton Stimpert, Rock Strecker Jr. and Ethan Halling; 5 nieces, Payton and Kamree Strecker, Cassidy Stimpert and Karsen and Danica Halling; 2 stepnieces: Meagan Etheridge and Jenae Settle. He was preceded in death by a brother, Rock L. Strecker. The vigil service will be at 7 p.m. Tuesday at St. John the Baptist Church, Spearville. Funeral Mass is 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 29, at the church, with Fr. Ted Stoecklein presiding. A private family inurnment will take place at St. John the Baptist Cemetery in Spearville.
