Events | Funeral for Barbara K. Teeter, 47, will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at the First United Methodist Church, Ulysses, with the Rev. Bruce Marshall officiating. Burial will follow in Ulysses Cemetery. Mrs. Teeter died Sunday, Feb. 22, 1998, at her home in Ulysses, after a lengthy illness. She was born June 4, 1950, at Syracuse, the daughter of Robert D. and Janet (Baugh) Martin. Raised in Johnson, she graduated from Stanton County High School in 1968. After marrying R. Lynn Teeter on Feb. 15, 1969, at Johnson, she attended Newman School of Nursing at Emporia, graduating in 1973. Mrs. Teeter was the president of the former Grant County Hospice, was a member of First United Methodist Church of Ulysses, and was the Grant County Senior Center Health Nurse. She is survived by her husband; a daughter, Amy Townsend, Ulysses; her parents, Johnson; three brothers, Brock Martin and Brent Martin, both of Johnson, and Blake Martin, Manter; a sister, Kim Barker, Ulysses; her grandmothers, Ethel Martin and Viola Baugh, both of Johnson; and a number of cousins, nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a son, Matthew J. Teeter, on Jan. 15, 1997. Visitation hours are until 8 tonight and from 10 a.m. to noon Wednesday at Phillips Mortuary, Ulysses.
