Events Betty J. Campbell, 78, died Feb. 20, 2004, at Western Prairie Care Home in Ulysses. She was born Oct. 10, 1925, in Ford, to Monte Ernest (Joe) and Maude Drennan (Trebilcock) Eyman.

A Stanton County resident since 1927, she graduated from Johnson High School and attended Fort Hays State University. She taught for three years and was a homemaker. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Ulysses, where she was a past church clerk and former President of the ABW. She was also active in the Big Bow EHU and Stanton County Extension.

On Oct. 28, 1962, she married Richard C. Campbell in Ulysses. He survives.

Other survivors include four sons, Patrick Barnes of Ulysses, Mike Campbell of Houston, Ron Campbell of Johnson City, and Tony Campbell of Thorton, Colo.; two sisters, Jo Anne Pucket of Ulysses and Juanita Smith of Big Bow; nine grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by one sister, Joyce Rexroat.

Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Monday at the First Baptist Church in Ulysses, with Rev. Barry Durkee officiating. Burial will follow at the Stanton County Cemetery in Johnson. Friends may call at Garnand Funeral Home in Ulysses from 2 to 8 p.m. Sunday. The family suggests memorials to The American Cancer Society or to the First Baptist Church, Ulysses, both in care of Garnand Funeral Home, 405 W. Grant, Ulysses, KS 67880.
