| About | David James Bruner David James Bruner, 49, Topeka, died Saturday, June 5, 2010 at Stormont-Vail Hospital. He was born Jan. 2, 1961 in Independence, MO, the son of James O. and Clara Ludlum Bruner. He graduated from Topeka West High School in 1979 and from Washburn University with a degree in Music Education in 1983. David worked for eleven years for John Stueve Service Station. He was a member of First Christian Church and the National Rifle Association. He is survived by his mother, Clara Bruner of Topeka; a brother and sister-in-law, Richard and Edye Bruner of Louisburg, and his special niece, Kimber Bruner. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday at First Christian Church with graveside services at 3:00 p.m. at Mason Cemetery, south of Uniontown, Kansas. David will lie in state after noon Tuesday at Penwell-Gabel Mid Town Chapel. The family will receive friends an hour prior to the service at the church.
