About | Wendy Jean (Ash) Long July 13, 1970 - August 05, 2019 Wendy Jean (Ash) Long transitioned August 5, 2019, at St. Francis/ KU Med Topeka, Kansas. She was surrounded by her loving family. Wendy was born on July 13, 1970 to parents Ronnie E. and Jan (Turntine) Ash in Topeka, Kansas. She graduated from Topeka West High School in 1988 with honors. Wendy received her Bachelors degree in Journalism from Earl Paulk College and was named Valedictorian of her graduating class. She had a successful career as a writer and editor. She was a ghost writer for several books and wrote a series of articles for local publications and Topeka Magazine a number of times the latest about businesses in NOTO. Wendy loved theater and was in many theater productions starting at an early age, junior high through high school and college, at Topeka Civic Theater (TCT), as well as in productions at Theater Lawrence. She also loved reading, hiking, yoga, biking, kayaking, rollerblading, and most all things of nature especially her favorite being yellow tulips. She had a special bond with children and babies. But her greatest joy was spending time with her daughter Morgan and granddaughter Edan and her precious family. Wendy is survived by her daughter Morgan (Cain) Mathis, granddaughter Edan Mathis, her brother Chad Ash and her fiancé Dustin Nichols, her parents Ronnie and Jan Ash, her grandparents Harold and Jean Turntine. Aunts and Uncles living: Jeanette Cummings (Jim), Debi Starr, Bud Turntine (Tami), Norman Ash (Ruth), Peter Ash (Donna), Melvin Ash (Jody). A Celebration of Life Service will be held Sunday August 18, from 5:00-7:00 at Topeka Civic Theater 3028 SW 8th Ave. Topeka, Kansas.
