About | Angela Woods Frymire, known to most as Angie, died early Monday, Nov. 18 at age 50 surrounded by family and friends. Angie was born March 4, 1963, and was raised in Ashland, KY by parents John Wesley Woods III and Margaret Best Woods. Angie graduated from Paul G. Blazer High School in 1981. She attended Centre College in Danville, KY, where she served as executive vice president, treasurer, and reference chairman for Delta Delta Delta Sorority and news editor for The Cento. Angie was a member of Omicron Delta Kappa, the economics honor society and also sang second soprano with the Centre Singers. She graduated in 1985 with a Bachelor of Arts in English and a minor in economics. Angie was married in Ashland, KY in July 1985 to John Marlowe Frymire of Madisonville, KY, son of Richard and Phyllis Frymire. Angie worked in banking until the birth of her first child. She then made her children her full time job, a choice she never regretted and her children appreciate to the fullest. In her free time, Angie enjoyed reading, the daily crossword, needlepoint, playing and watching tennis, and cheering on the Kentucky Wildcats no matter the season. She was an active member of Throne of Grace Community Church and always took joy in giving to others. Angie’s faith was of utmost importance to her and throughout the years she served on the leadership team for Community Bible Study and played an active role in the church. All that knew Angie will remember her bravery as she fought breast cancer in recent years. They will remember her constant faith in Christ. And they will never forget the way she gracefully and continually loved and cared for her friends and family over many seasons. Preceded in death by her natural mother Margaret Elizabeth “Betsy” Woods Carter, Angie is survived by her parents, John and Margaret Woods of Louisville; husband, John Frymire of Louisville, brother, Robert Lowery Woods of Kokomo, IN, daughters, Marlowe and Margaret Frymire and son, John Wesley Frymire, all of Louisville. Memorial donations may be made to Samaritan’s Purse, Throne of Grace Community Church, or Gilda’s Club. Condolences may be made at www.lmgfuneralhomeeast.com Notes from her friend Beth on Facebook. Angie Woods Frymire was voted most likely to succeed for the class of 1981 and she did just that. She raised 3 wonderful children, handled her illness with grace, and remained true to her God! I spent many nights at Cogan street for sleepovers. We laid out in a certain spot at Breezeland and listened to Aternoon Delight on a tiny transitor radio. She got me involved in The Ramey Review for charity. We muddled through Miss Jayne's AP English and Mr. Trabant's Political Science class together. I watched the Derby at a prom party at her house one year. I have notes from her tucked into my Bible. She fixed me up with the first boy I ever went steady with, her brother Lowery. I am a better person for having the privledge of having known her. I take comfort in knowing that she is now without pain and that my Mother was there to greet her. |
