| Events | Michael John Liuzza, Jr. of Midlothian, VA passed away unexpectedly on December 21, 2021. Michael is survived by his wife of 28 years, Joné Elam Liuzza; his daughters, Kate Madison Liuzza and Avery Lois Liuzza. He is also survived by his parents, Michael Liuzza, Sr. and Alice Liuzza of Slidell, LA. He was preceded in death by his brothers, Daniel Joseph Liuzza and Shawn Patrick Liuzza. Michael's banking career began at Hibernia National Bank in New Orleans. He continued with Capital One when they acquired Hibernia in 2005 and relocated to Richmond in late 2010. Michael served in leadership roles at Capital One for the last 33 years. Most recently, Michael led the incredibly important Risk and Technology programs. His legacy at Capital One will be his unwavering enthusiasm for teamwork and willingness to lend a hand to anyone. Anyone who had the pleasure of knowing Michael knew that he loved the New Orleans Saints, fitness and a martini on a Friday evening. You also likely experienced firsthand Michael's deep belly laugh and his dry-wit humor. Michael was a foodie, wine snob and a great conversationalist. Michael was a caring husband and an amazing father. He loved being a girl dad. Michael had an insatiable appetite for travel. Positano, Italy was his happy place. Michael will be fondly remembered by his infectious smile and big heart. The family will receive friends on Friday, January 7 from 4:00-7:00 at Woody’s Funeral Home in Midlothian, Virginia. |
