Carolyn Zebley Carolyn Rosa Mayer Zebley, 67, died on Friday, March 14, at her home in Lake Charles. A native of Crowley, LA, she graduated from Crowley High School and University of Southwestern Louisiana (UL) in Home Economics Education. Carolyn moved to Lake Charles in 1963 and was employed by Gulf States Utilities as a Home Services Advisor in the Jennings-to-Sulphur areas. After marriage, she became a full-time homemaker. She was an active parishioner of Our Lady of Good Counsel Catholic Church. She was also a member of McNeese Faculty Wives, a volunteer for the American Cancer Society and Abraham's Tent, and she assisted the Elderhostel program at McNeese State University. Carolyn was preceded in death by her father, Henry Roos Mayer. She is survived by her husband of almost 40 years, Charles Zebley; mother, Irene Mayer Hoffpauir and husband Paul; daughter, Dr. Kathleen Zebley Liulevicius and husband Dr. Vejas Liulevicius of Knoxville, TN; daughter Angele Zebley Gallers and husband David Gallers of New York City; and daughter Julie Zebley of Lake Charles. She is also survived by two grandchildren, Paul and Helen Liulevicius. Carolyn wanted to thank Dr. Richard Landry, Dr. Francis Bride, Dr. Michael Broussard, all of Lake Charles; and Dr. Diane Bodurka and Dr. Guillermo Garcia-Manero of M.D. Anderson Cancer Center in Houston, for their excellent care. The family also thanks the Christus-St. Patrick's Hospice program for their wonderful support and compassionate care. The funeral mass will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, March 18 at Our Lady of Good Counsel Catholic Church. The principal celebrant will be Father Alan Trouille, concelebrated by Monsignor Jace Eskind and assisted by Deacon Glenn Viau. Visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Monday, and Tuesday morning from 8:00 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. at Johnson Funeral Home in Lake Charles. There will be a rosary and scripture service at 7:00 p.m. Monday evening. Burial will be at Consolata Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to St. Louis Catholic High School Foundation, 1620 Bank Street, Lake Charles, LA 70601. |
