About | Donna passed from this life on November 18, 2010, after a brief illness. She was born on November 30, 1951, in Lafayette, Louisiana to W. J. "Hook" and Patsy Robicheaux. She was preceded in death by her Father, Hook Robicheaux. She graduated from Lafayette High School and the University of Southwest Louisiana and made her home in Houston, Texas for many years. She relocated to Galveston, Texas in 2005 and worked primarily for Jesse Tree, a not-for-profit organization helping those in need, before retiring three years ago. Since retirement, she has volunteered at Libbie's Place, a day care facility for seniors. She is survived by her two loyal and loving dogs, Cricket and Emily, her loving Mother Patsy, her sister Deborah Dolgin (Robert) of St. Louis, Missouri, her brothers Brad Robicheaux (Carrie) of Tomball, Texas and Carl Robicheaux (Aime) of Lafayette, Louisiana. She adored and is survived by her nieces Jennifer Robicheaux Ward (Bill) of Chicago, Illinois, Blair Robicheaux of Chicago, Illinois, Anna Robicheaux of Lafayette, Louisiana, and her nephew Dr. Grant Robicheaux of Newport Beach, California. Donna was a uniquely gifted person who could turn junk into treasures and everyday objects into art. She was a generous and compassionate spirit who endeavored to help those in need by giving her time and energy to those less fortunate than she. Donna will be greatly missed by her family and all those whose lives she touched. A Celebration of her life will be held in a private family ceremony at the beach in Galveston, Texas on Friday, November 26th at 11:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers and gifts, please donate to the Galveston Island Humane Society, 5301 Avenue S, Galveston, TX, 77551 in the memory of Donna Robicheaux. |
