About AUGUSTA - Michael D. Perry, 52, of Eastern Avenue died unexpectedly Sunday, April 5, 2009, at MaineGeneral Medical Center, Augusta.

He was born in Wichita Falls, Texas, on July 20, 1956, a son of Donald L. Perry and Marion B. (Pottle) Brunelle. Mr. Perry was a Cony High School graduate, class of 1975. He was a self-employed carpenter, owning and operating Michael's Home Improvement for more than 20 years. He had previously been employed by Bath Iron Works.

Michael was a great man with many talents. He enjoyed fishing and camping with his family and friends. He was a gentle soul who was always ready to help those in need at any time. He was a great collector of hats and enjoyed having yard sales.

Being a father was the high point of his life. His son, Dylan, meant the world to him. He will be sadly missed by his family, friends and his dog, Charlie Brown.

Mr. Perry was predeceased by his father, Donald L. Perry; and a brother, Joel Nathan Perry. He is survived by his son, Dylan Michael Perry and their dog, Charlie Brown, of Augusta; mother Marion B. (Pottle) Brunelle, of Augusta; his stepmother, Janice (Campeau) Perry; four brothers, Anthony Perry, of Hallowell, Patrick Perry and his wife, Diane, of Augusta, Douglas Perry and his wife, Bethany, of Phelps, N.Y., and Christopher Perry and his wife, Stefanie, of Pittston; four sisters, Rhonda Standish and her husband, Darrell, of Augusta, Kimberly Perry, of Sidney, Penny Whitten and her husband, Dwight, of Manchester, and Linda Taylor, of Manchester; and many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Visiting hours were held Tuesday, April 7, at Plummer Funeral Home, 16 Pleasant St., Augusta, where a funeral service will take place at 11 a.m. Wednesday, April 8. Burial will be held at the convenience of the family.
