About | From the Portland Press Herald: Richard G. Charest Little League Coach, Machinist, Foreman Westbrook- Richard G. Charest, 55, of White Street died Tuesday at a Portland Hospital. He was born in Portland, son of Germain and Bernadette Vincent Charest. He lived in Westbrook and Gorham and attended St. Hyacinth School and graduated from Gorham High School, 6/16/1960. He was active in sports. Mr. Charest worked as a machinist and foreman for 24 years. He was devoted to his children and active in youth sports. He was a Little League coach for nine years. He was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force and a member of the Knights of Columbus. Surviving are his father, of Westbrook; his wife Maureen Buckley Charest; a son Richard G. Jr. of Watertown, Mass; three daughters, Kimberly J. Charest of Westbrook, Mrs. John (Kelly) Foster of Londonderry, N.H., Kathryn Charest of Watertown; three brothers, David R. and Phillip both of Westbrook, and Raymond of Gorham; a sister, Pauline LeBlanc of Reno, Nevada.; and a granddaughter. Visiting hours will be from 2-2 and 7-9 P.M. today at Blais Funeral Home, 35 Church St. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10a.m. Friday in St. Hyacinth's Church. Burial will be in St. Hyacinth's cemetery. |
